Perusahaan yang di dirikan Archer, Leanna's Inc, membuat delapan produk organik, produk perawatan rambut, yang didalamnya termasuk tata rambut, krim rambut dan sampo.

Rahasia produknya merupakan resep turun menurun di keluarganya sejak lama dan di jamin bebas dari zat kimia yang sangat berbahaya bagi kesehatan.

Tahun lalu, Leanna's Inc mampu meraup pendapatan lebih dari US$100 ribu. Pebisnis cilik asal Long Island menargetkan pertumbuhan menjadi lebih dari US$300 ribu. Saat ini, perusahaan tengah berencana membangun kantor perwakilan di seluruh wilayah Amerika Serikat.

2. Robert Nay (14 Tahun)

Pada usia 14 tahun, permainan pertama yang dibuat Robert Nay, Bubble Ball, telah di unduh lebih dari 2 juta sejak dua pekan diluncurkan. Hal yang tidak terlalu buruk mengingat rata-rata permainan mobile hanya di unduh beberapa ribu kali.

Pada Januari lalu, Bubble Ball malah berhasil mengalahkan game mobile terbesar Anggry Birds sebagai permainan yang banyak di unduh dalam fasilitas Apple App store.

"Teman saya mengusulkan agar membuat permainan yang bisa digunakan di perangkat Apple. Saya berpikir ini hal yang menarik dan saya pun mencobanya," kata Nay.

Tanpa latar belakang ilmu pengkodean atau biasa di sebut coding dalam dunia komputer, Nay pergi ke perpustakaan publik untuk mempelajari bagaimana membuat program permainan.

Satu bulan setelah membaca beberapa buku dan memproduksi lebih dari 4.000 kode-kode program, Bubble Ball berhasil di buat. Total biaya untuk memproduksi permainan ini mencapai US$1.200 yang berasal dari sumbangan orangtua Nay untuk membeli komputer Machintos dan perangkat lunak berlisensi.

Program permainan Puzzle yang tersedia untuk Apple dan perangkat berbasis Android ini, kini sudah diunduh lebih dari tujuh juta kali.

Perusahaan pengembangan permainan yang sudah memasuki tahun ke delapan ini, Nay Games, saat ini sedang mengembangkan beberapa tambahan baru pada Bubble Ball seperti proyek program lainnya.

3. Mark Bao (18 Tahun)

Pada usia 18 tahun, Mark Bao yang merupakan warga New York dinobatkan sebagai enterpreneur teknologi dan philanthropi paling sukses. Pemuda belasan tahun ini telah menjual tiga perusahaan website dimana dua diantaranya dianggap memberikan keuntungan sangat besar.

Satu perusahaan web-nya telah memperoleh anggota lebih dari seperempat juta hanya dalam tiga minggu setelah diluncurkan. Bao juga kini telah mulai mendirikan yayasan non-profit.

Perusahaan lamanya yang seluruhnya dibiayai sendiri yaitu threewords.me, situs media sosial dimana anggotanya menggambarkan tiga kata mengenai kepribadian temannya, Atomplan, perangkat manajemen bisnis kecil, dan Facebook Idol, aplikasi layaknya American Idol.

"Saya selalau tertarik dengan teknologi dan bagaimana ini bisa membuat perubahan," kata Bao. "Aksi enterpreneur menciptakan perubahan."

Perusahaan yang kini dibangunnya, Supportbreeze, adalah perangkat layanan konsumen yang membantu pebisnis dalam mengelola permohonan. Layanan ini secara dramatis membantu mengurangi waktu dan penggunaan tenaga kerja.

4. Lizzie Marie Likness (11 Tahun)

Juru masak yang mampu memberikan insiprasi sejak berusia dua tahun ini, dianggap sedang dalam jalurnya untuk menjadi pengganti Rachel Ray, juru masak yang membawakan program memasak di televisi.

Suatu ketika, orangtua Lizzie pernah bertanya bagaimana caranya memperoleh uang. Seketika itu, Lizzie menjawab, "Saya menjual makanan rumahan yang sehat untuk pasar lokal." Sejak saat itu, Lizzie dianggap sebagai pendiri dari Lizzie Marie Cuisine.

Akan tetapi, alangkah nikmatnya apabila Anda bekerja lebih maksimal lagi tanpa terlalu berharap dinaikkan jabatan Anda. Karena akan terasa lebih puas apabila proses yang Anda jalani menuju kesuksesan tanpa pamrih. "The experience of being fired from a Job is high on the list of stressful life events that can happen to anyone over the course of their Employment," says Dr. Melodie Schaefer, executive director of The Chicago School, Southern California Counseling Centers.
So how do you manage the stress of being fired and get on the road to your next Job? Here are some steps.

Don't burn bridges
Although you're not leaving the company under the best circumstances, how you leave can affect your success down the line.

"It can be awkward for colleagues to say good-bye to a fired Employee, so don't bother going from cubicle to cubicle to announce your departure," advises Jeffery Cohen, the author of "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Recession-Proof Career." "Simply call your closest friends at Work that evening to explain the news. They'll understand your desire to be discreet, given the circumstances."
After being fired, it's not uncommon to feel anger toward the company and certain employees.
"Never bad mouth a former Employee or employer online, offline, or via social media," warns Cohen. "You never know when you'll need a reference. That small sense of satisfaction from dissing a former company will ultimately be outweighed if it costs you a future job."
Manage your emotions
While you may feel that your future is uncertain, it's important to realize that getting fired is not the end of your Career.
But keeping your emotions in check can be hard, which is why Schaefer recommends good self-care--for instance, by exercising and journaling to relieve stress after being fired.
One aspect of getting fired that can weigh heavily on your mind is how to relay the bad news to your friends and family, for fear of their reactions and judgments. Schaefer says that remaining forward-thinking is vital when talking about your termination.
"Say, 'I'd rather not have to dwell on the past and would really appreciate your input in helping me think about my next steps, now that I have a chance to consider making a change,'" she advises.
Pick your battles
While it's common to feel anger toward your former employer, taking legal action is viable only in certain cases.
Paul Lopez, an employment attorney with the firm Tripp Scott, says that he regularly receives calls from people seeking legal advice after being fired.
"A lot of people are fired simply because they didn't get along with their boss, and you can't sue a company because your boss was a jerk," says Lopez.
However, there are circumstances that warrant legal action--such civil-rights violations.
"No one can be fired because of their sex, race, age, disability, or national origin," says Lopez. "If there's a manager who has a prejudice against someone in those protected classes and fires them--that's actionable."
Dennis Nason, CEO of Nason & Nason, an executive recruitment firm, adds, "If you're thinking about suing your previous employer, unless you have a very strong case, it's not going to get you anywhere. My advice is to move on."
Start over
Once you've allowed some time to mend emotionally and have gotten over the anger of being fired, it's time to set sail on a new course.
"Make a bad time a good opportunity," says Nason. "Ask yourself if you were in the right position, or if you need to rethink your career."
Career coach Ann Mehl suggests finding a coach or a friend to help you outline your past achievements and re-brand yourself in the job market.
"Stress what you learned from the past experience and frame your answers so that you let interviewers know that you see this new opportunity as a means to achieving your ultimate career objectives," says Mehl.
When you go in for interviews, have a good grasp on the facts about why you were fired, advises Nason. When asked why you left your last job, your answer should be true, concise, and as positive as possible.
"Don't lead your resume, cover letter, or interviews with bad news," says Nason. "They'll get around to asking why you left your last Job. Tell the truth in a brief 10 to 20 seconds."
The key in interviews to explaining why you got fired is to make it not about you, says Cohen. "Anything from 'the new boss wanted to bring in his own team' to 'the entire department was downsized' is better than admitting you lost your Job due to your own performance."

For most people, Halloween conjures scary images of witches, goblins, and ghosts. But for many workers, there are other fears lurking in the shadows all year: like the fear of being reprimanded, laid off, or stuck in a dead-end Job. According to Ford R. Myers, president of Career Potential, LLC, and the author of "Get the Job You Want, Even When No One's Hiring," "the American workplace is largely driven by fear. Most bosses use fear as a mechanism to control and drive the employee's activity." - Job

Fear #1: What if I get laid off?
Given the unemployment rate, layoffs are a chillingly real possibility for many workers. However, you can cope with that fear by actively building your network. "Regardless of whether you believe you'll be laid off, you should proactively engage in your professional community," says Michael Woodward, PhD, an executive coach and the author of the "The You Plan." "Belong to your professional association or community organizations. ... The difference between those who stay unemployed and those who are quickly able to get back on their feet is that the latter have strong networks."
Fear #2: If I don't get laid off, but others do, will I be able to handle the added responsibilities?
When companies downsize, often the best employees get "rewarded" with more work. This can cause job-performance anxiety, especially if the new tasks are outside your skill set or if you're afraid of adding another project to your to-do list. In this situation, Woodward suggests reaching out to your boss and coworkers for guidance. "Knowledge helps create certainty," he says. "You could wallow in that stress or you could say, 'I need some clarification on a couple of points.' It's an opportunity to broaden your skill set and to make yourself more valuable in the future."
Fear #3: Will I be underemployed forever?
Often younger workers end up in support roles where they may not feel challenged. More-experienced workers can also wind up in this predicament due to a layoff or workforce re-entry. However, thinking ahead to your next position keeps things in perspective when it feels like you're endlessly folding t-shirts or fetching coffee. "The smart person does not just ... do what the boss tells them and nothing more," says Myers. "They should consistently grow their credentials. Step up for the juicier, more challenging assignments. Show up earlier; leave later." Remember, the old model of your boss or human resources managing your career is no longer applicable. It's up to you to determine your next steps.
Fear #4: What if my boss yells at me again?
A boss who yells or criticizes you in front of others can really damage morale, so Myers advises that people be "very, very careful about the culture that they choose." Another thing, he says, "is to be very proactive and clear with your boss when you first get hired about how you establish the relationship and set the right precedent." If you're already in a job with a toxic boss, you can sometimes manage a situation (and prevent future problems) by discussing it in a calm, nonthreatening manner. "Don't bring it up in public and don't point fingers," Myers advises. "Say to your boss, I have a concern about something that happened. I'm not sure what your motivation was. I may have misunderstood, but this was my perception; I'd like to get your take on it."

1. Improve relations with your boss.
Your direct supervisor is one of the most important people in your professional life. If that relationship is feeling strained, get back into your boss's good graces by figuring out how to best communicate with him or her, suggests Katherine Reynolds Lewis, a workplace journalist for About.com and the Fiscal Times. "So often, managers have so little time to do the management, so you have to manage up," she says. Ask your supervisor if you can schedule a weekly check-in meeting. Or if your manager is more spontaneous, strike up a conversation and subtly mention your latest accomplishments. "Don't assume that your boss knows when you've done a great Job," urges Lewis.
2. Beat procrastination or lateness.
If you struggle with tardiness or procrastination, then Fearless Career coach Victoria Ashford suggests owning up to the weakness and enlisting coworkers to help you stay accountable. "The biggest hindrance is not having a good support system," she explains. "Tell people, 'This is a problem for me,' and get them to share their techniques." Understanding the consequences can also help. There's just something about opening a calendar for a new year that inspires us to improve our lives. So it's no surprise that New Year's career resolutions often focus on big goals--such as a promotion or a new Job.
And that's why many resolutions get tossed aside by the second week in January, according to Tracy Brisson, founder and CEO of The Opportunities Project. "We get overwhelmed when we realize that outcomes are not always in our control," she explains. But Brisson says that there are plenty of attainable goals--such as adding people to your network or committing to read one business-related book per month--that can add up to Career success.

Sara Sutton Fell, CEO of Flexjobs.com, recommends a mix of easy-to-achieve and lofty goals. She says, "The important part is to choose goals that are directly related to making you more successful in your job."
Here are some other suggestions from the experts:

Hone your elevator pitch.
For Jasmin French, principal of the personal branding firm J. French, it starts with honing your personal brand. French advises doing a simple inventory, "What did you do in 2010 that has transferable value to your employer or potential employer in 2011?" Then, she says, turn that into a succinct (60 seconds or less) pitch on what you are uniquely positioned to do better than anyone else.
French also suggests that you get people to start talking about you by updating your LinkedIn profile with any certifications you've earned or classes you're taking, as well as forwarding relevant articles. "Create your own buzz. It's self-promotion, but it's not shameless."

Brush up on hard skills.
Victoria Ashford, a leadership and career coach at Fearless Leading, suggests heading back to school for additional education, certification, diplomas, or language skills. "Once you have the knowledge and skill, it's yours forever--hard to take away," she notes. "Industries and work environments change, so make sure you're keeping up. Be intentional about your knowledge base and upgrade or update it now."

Solidify your soft skills.
While you're admiring that new diploma hanging on the wall, Ashford cautions that you shouldn't forget about "soft" skills, such as business etiquette, body language, and personal accountability. "Master the arts of introductions, conversation, and establishing professional presence. Ask others to judge your handshake, table manners, and posture," she advises.
A University of Illinois study concluded that 55 percent of the first impression you make is based on your appearance and your body language. And while first impressions are made within the first 30 seconds of meeting someone, it can take up to as many as 21 interactions to undo a bad first impression. French says, "If you want to be known for being detail-oriented, hem your pants, polish your fingernails, or iron that shirt."

Work better with others.
Susan Bender Phelps, a trainer and speaker with Odyssey Mentoring, urges employees to treat everyone they work with as if they are a customer. "Everyone includes your company's management team, your direct supervisor, even your cubicle-mate. Provide knock-your-socks-off service."
Bender Phelps says that one place to start is by sharing credit with your team and with everyone in the organization who contributed to a success. "When you do this consistently, you become the kind of leader people will want to follow, regardless of your title." Likewise, acknowledge people when they do great work, and be specific: "Give evidence that demonstrates you understand their work and the difference it made to the organization."
Approach failure as an opportunity.
"Use every failure or mistake as an opportunity to learn and plan for the future," emphasizes Bender Phelps. She recommends paying attention to what you were trying to accomplish, what you did to make that happen, what went right, and what went wrong. By taking time to consider what went into a failed initiative, you can learn what could have been done better--and in the future, if you're presented with a similar situation or project, you'll know what you should do differently.

While most Career advice focuses on how to succeed, we can all learn valuable lessons by dissecting Career failure as well. Workplace experts offer insights into some of the top ways workers undermine their own careers and jeopardize their career development.

1. Not Taking Your Education Seriously
If you party too much in college and end up with a run-of-the-mill 2.5 GPA, you'll be passed over for the best entry-level jobs, says New York City-based executive recruiter and coach Brian Drum, of Drum Associates. Not finishing your master's degree is another way to hurt your career-development goals, adds Anne Angerman, a Career coach with Denver-based Career Matters.

2. Not Having a Plan
In the current poor Job market, you may have defaulted into a Career you aren't crazy about. That's OK, as long as you develop Career plans to get where you want to be. "Think of every Job you take as a stepping-stone to your next Job," Drum advises.

3. Lying
You'll lose professional credibility in a hurry if you lie, from exaggerating on your resume to getting caught fibbing on Facebook. "If someone calls in sick to work and then that evening posts a photo on Facebook of their extra day vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, that's a big problem," says corporate etiquette specialist Diane Gottsman of the Protocol School of Texas in San Antonio.

4. Sullying Your Reputation on Facebook or Twitter
Social media can harm your reputation in other ways, too. Personal posts and tweets from work--when you're supposed to be doing your job--can tag you as a slacker. And the content of your posts or tweets can come back to haunt you as well--you never know who might stumble upon those bachelor-party photos. "You need to assume that every boss and potential employer knows how to use Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace, and post from the standpoint that everyone is watching--even if in reality they're not," Gottsman says.

5. Not Respecting Professional Boundaries
Sharing TMI about your personal life with colleagues is unprofessional. "Your coworkers don't want to hear about your fights with your husband," Angerman says. On the other hand, if you're ultraprivate and work with a chatty group, join the conversations occasionally so coworkers don't resent you.

6. Gossiping, Slandering, and Excessively Criticizing
If you publicly bash fellow employees, the boss, the board of directors, or even your competitors, you'll be perceived as negative at best and a troublemaker at worst. Never a good idea, but an especially bad one if your boss is married. "When you get involved in a drama or in something unethical that can be brought out in the open, you're asking for trouble," Gottsman says.

8. Not Controlling Your Alcohol Intake or Libido
Getting drunk at the office party or on a business trip damages your credibility. Ditto a romantic, ahem, "indiscretion" that your colleagues know about.

9. Job-Hopping Just for the Money
Job-hopping--in moderation--may not automatically disqualify you from a position. "But it gets to the point--like if you have seven or eight Jobs by the time you're 35--that employers are not going to want to invest in you," Drum says. Also, if you have leadership aspirations, keep in mind that the top dogs of many large corporations have been with those organizations for long periods, he says. Mountain Gorilla Numbers Have Increased

Along with the 302 mountain gorillas from a census in Bwindi in 2006, the world population is now more than 780.
The Virunga Massif includes three contiguous national parks: Parc National des Virunga in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda.
The only other location where mountain gorillas exist is Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda.
A 2003 census estimated the population in Virunga at 380 individuals - so the current figure suggests that the population has increased by just over 25% in the last seven years.

Conservationists say the increase is thanks to that a collaborative "transboundary" effort by organisations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda to protect the gorillas and their habitat.
But, according to the African Wildlife Foundation and International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP), the animals are still very much under threat.
A joint statement from the two organisations reported that a recent five-day patrol in the Virunga Massif discovered and destroyed 200 poachers' snares.
Poachers typically do not target mountain gorillas, but the snares they set are a still a threat.
Director of the IGCP Eugene Rutagarama said: "Collectively, we cannot let down our guard on the conservation of these incredible animals.
"While mountain gorillas are physically strong, they are also incredibly vulnerable."

Fifa vice-president Jack Warner has blamed the UK media for England's failed bid to host the 2018 World Cup.

And a number of members of world football's governing body - including Cyprus' Marios Lefkaritis, Japan's Junji Ogura and now Warner - have insisted that securing only two of the 22 Fifa members' votes may have been part of a media backlash.
Warner's support was key to England's hopes. In his role as president of the Concacaf confederation of Caribbean, North and Central American countries he controlled three votes.
The Trinidadian was thought to be among as many as six of the 22 members who had promised England's bid they would vote in their favour.
Chuck Blazer, a Fifa executive committee member from the United States, was thought to be one of the six who would vote for England, but insists he has not let anyone down by voting for winners Russia.
"I've been very clear to anyone who was involved in the bidding and had impression on how I was leaning. I never made a promise to anyone how I was going to vote. I certainly never disappointed anyone," Blazer said.
"I voted for Russia and the United States and I did so for what I believed were good and sufficient reasons."
England were humiliatingly eliminated in the first round in Zurich with Russia triumphing with an absolute majority of 13 votes in the second ballot.

US ambassador to the UN Susan Rice said a peace treaty signed after Ivory Coast's 2002 civil war empowered the UN mission there to certify the election.

Laurent Gbagbo defied international opinion by swearing in his new cabinet

She argued that failing to join international calls to respect the results risked exposing the Security Council as impotent.
"This is an important moment for the Security Council. The results are known, the facts are clear, and they need to be acknowledged and respected, that's the position of the United States," she said.
Earlier in the day the UN representative in Ivory Coast told the council that he had double checked the results and was certain that Mr Ouattara had won by a clear margin.
Speaking via video link from Abidjan, Choi Young-jin urged the council to take action against Mr Gbagbo to safeguard the result of the vote.
Ms Rice said she hoped the Security Council debate could resume on Wednesday.
Correspondents say it is unclear what the international community can do if Mr Gbagbo refuses to step down.
At a special summit in Nigeria, Ecowas recognised Mr Ouattara as the Ivory Coast's president-elect and called on Mr Gbagbo to yield power without delay.
Suspending Ivory Coast's membership of the grouping is considered a particularly harsh measure demonstrating that Mr Gbagbo's government is facing criticism from its African neighbours.

The talks also aim to address tough issues such as how to strengthen South Korea's defences, and how to respond in the event of another attack, adds our correspondent.

China's role South Korea's defence minister, Kim Kwan-jin, has already said his country would respond with airstrikes in the event of any future attack by the North.
He has also indicated he would like to hand more power to commanders on the ground.
The government in Seoul is being propelled into a tougher position on defence by public opinion, says our correspondent, as many South Koreans are blaming their leaders for not responding strongly or quickly enough to November's aggression.

The South is also conducting its own live-fire drills around its coastline this week.

Further diplomacy is planned next week, when US Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg is due to lead a delegation to Beijing for talks on North Korea.
"China has a critical role to play," said Mr Steinberg.
"We believe it is in the interest of both the United States and China... to work together to achieve solutions to the world's most vexing problems.
"We welcome the rise of a successful, strong and prosperous China that plays a greater role in global affairs."
He will be accompanied by three top Washington officials on Asia: Jeffrey Bader from the National Security Council, the top diplomat for East Asia and the Pacific Kurt Campbell, and the US envoy for six-party talks about the North's nuclear programmes, Sung Kim.
"They will meet senior officials to continue consultations with the Chinese on regional security issues, including recent developments on the Korean peninsula," said a state department statement.
China is under pressure to exert whatever influence it has over North Korea.
Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held talks with the Japanese and South Korean foreign ministers which ended with a call to North Korea to stop its "provocative" acts.
New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson may travel to North Korea next week to speak with government officials about the country's nuclear programme, according to news reports from Washington.

Scotland Yard said Mr Dewani, from Westbury-on-Trym, had been arrested in the UK following an extradition request by prosecutors in South Africa.
A spokesperson said he had surrendered himself at a police station in Bristol on Tuesday and was later arrested on suspicion of conspiring to murder his wife.
Taxi driver Tongo was sentenced to 18 years in jail after agreeing a plea bargain.
He was charged with murder, kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances and perverting the course of justice.
Two other people, Xolile Mnguni, 23, and Mziwamadoda Qwabe, 25, face charges of murder, aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
Mrs Dewani was kidnapped while the taxi was travelling through Gugulethu township, near Cape Town on 13 November.
Mr Dewani returned to England after the murder and has always denied any involvement in his wife's death.
The couple are understood to have met when relatives introduced them in England 15 months earlier.

Job Indonesia - Due to Indonesia's placement on a significant segment of the Pacific "Ring of Fire", two large crustal plates (the Indian Ocean and western Pacific) are forced under the massive Eurasian plate, where they melt, approximately 100km beneath the surface. Some of the magma rises and erupts, forming the string of volcanic islands across Indonesia.
But with tectonic activity comes devastating earthquakes and tsunamis, such as those of Boxing Day 2004, off Java in July 2006 and Sumatra in 2009, and just recently around the surfer's paradise of the Mentawai Islands. Here is the lowdown on Indonesia's most beautiful, and its most volatile, volcanic monsters.

Gunung Bromo, Java
A landscape of epic proportions and surreal beauty, Gunung Bromo is one of Indonesia's most breathtaking sights. Surrounded by the desolate Sea of Sands, its peak is sacred and eerie. It may not be Java's tallest volcano, but it is easily its most magnificent. From the summit you can see two other volcanoes (one in various stages of activity), all set in the vast caldera of yet another volcano.
Compared with Java's other major peaks, Gunung Bromo is a midget. But this volcano's beauty is in its setting, not its size. Rising from the guts of the ancient Tengger caldera, Bromo is one of three volcanoes to have emerged from a vast crater that stretches 10km across. Flanked by the peaks of Kursi and Batok, the steaming cone of Bromo stands in a sea of ashen, volcanic sand, surrounded by the towering cliffs of the crater's edge. Nearby, Gunung Semeru, Java's highest peak and one of its most active volcanoes, throws its shadow - and occasionally its ash - over the whole scene.
Gunung Krakatau, Java
Take a boat trip to see the remnants, and the new beginnings, of one of the world's A-list volcanoes. Few volcanoes have as explosive a place in history as Krakatau, the island that blew itself apart in 1883. Turning day into night and hurling devastating tsunamis against the shores of Java and Sumatra, Krakatau quickly became vulcanology's A-list celebrity. Few would have guessed that Krakatau would have snuffed itself out with such a devastating swan song. Krakatau may have blown itself to smithereens, but it is currently being replaced by Anak Krakatau, which has been on the ascendant ever since its first appearance nearly 80 years ago. It has a restless and uncertain temperament, sending out showers of glowing rocks and belching smoke and ashes.
Kawah Ijen, Java
Spend the night at a peaceful coffee plantation before climbing this volcano to view its remarkable turquoise sulphur lake. The fabled Ijen Plateau is a vast volcanic region dominated by the three cones of Ijen, Merapi and Raung. A beautiful and thickly forested alpine area, these thinly populated highlands harbour coffee plantations and a few isolated settlements - Gunung Ijen is Javanese for "Lonely Mountain". Access roads to the plateau are poor, and perhaps because of this visitor numbers are low. Virtually everyone that does come is here for the hike up to the spectacular crater lake of Kawah Ijen. But with sweeping vistas and a temperate climate, the plateau could make a great base for a few days up in the clouds away from the crowds.
Gunung Agung, Java
Take one of the numerous routes up and down Bali's tallest and most sacred mountain. Gunung Agung is an imposing peak seen from most of South and East Bali, although it is often obscured by cloud and mist. Many references give its height as 3,142m, but some say it lost its top in the 1963 eruption and opinion varies as to the real height. The summit is an oval crater, about 700m across, with its highest point on the western edge above Besakih.
Gunung Kerinci, Sumatra
Brave this challenging ascent up into the heavens on Sumatra's highest peak. Dominating the northern end of the park is the 3,805m Gunung Kerinci, one of Sumatra's most active volcanoes (it last erupted in 2009) and Indonesia's highest non-Papuan peak. On clear days the summit offers fantastic views of Danau Gunung Tujuh and the surrounding valleys and mountains.
Kelimutu, Nusa Tenggara
Wonder at the ethereal scenery atop this volcano, with its three differently coloured crater lakes and lunar landscape. There are not many better ways to wake up than to sip ginger coffee as the sun crests Kelimutu's western rim, filtering mist into the sky and revealing three deep, volcanic lakes - each one a different striking shade. That is why the tri-coloured lakes of Kelimutu National Park have long been considered a Nusa Tenggara must. During our research one was turquoise, the other dark brown with flecks of rust and the third was black glass. Colours are so dense that the lakes seem the thickness of paint.
Gunung Rinjani, Lombok
Join pilgrims at the summit of this sacred peak, which has a huge crater lake overlooked by the active cone of Gunung Baru. To the Balinese, who come once a year, Rinjani is one of three sacred mountains, along with Bali's Agung and Java's Bromo. Inside the immense caldera, 600m below the rim, is a stunning, 6km-wide cobalt-blue lake, Danau Segara Anak (Child of the Sea). The Balinese toss their jewellery into the lake in a ceremony called pekelan, before they continue toward the sacred summit.
Gunung Api, Maluku
Scramble up this volcano in the Banda Islands to experience the awesome sunrise views. An ideal way of recovering after a night's partying in Seoul (it is highly recommended to hit the bars and clubs of happening Hongdae over the expat enclave of Itaewon) is sweating it out at a jimjilbang, a traditional Korean sauna. Slip into the foreigner-friendly Silloam Fomentation Sauna, near Seoul Station.
4. The free entertainment
Thrilling demonstration of taekwando at Gyeonghui-gung; the changing of the guard at Gyeongbok-gung; traditional music performances at Seoul Plaza; spectacular light shows along the Cheong-gye-cheon, at N-Seoul Tower and the Bampo Bridge - it will not cost you one won to enjoy any of these regular public events.
5. The tea shops
Sipping a fruity, herbal beverage and nibbling rice cakes in a quaint teashop is one of Seoul's great pleasures. Tiny Yetchatjip is famous for the songbirds that flit around its bric-a-brac-packed salon, but we prefer Dawon for its airy gallery-surrounded courtyard and traditional hanok tea room. Both can be found in Insa-dong.
6. The greenery
Concrete abounds in Seoul, but there is also no shortage of natural greenery. Soak up the serenity of the Secret Garden at World Heritage-listed Changdeokgung, or saunter along the revived Cheong-gye-cheon, an ingeniously landscaped stream flowing through Seoul's heart. One of our favourite spots is beautiful Seonyu-do Park, crafted from an old water filtration plant on an island in the Han River.
7. The hiking
More greenery is at hand in the mountains and hills that encircle the city - fantastic, accessible hiking territory for all. Shadow the remains of Seoul's ancient fortress walls for panoramic views from the summit of Bukaksan or climb sacred Inwangsan, where shamans still practice their daily rituals.
8. The shopping
Whatever you want to buy, it is sure to be on sale in Seoul. For a taste of old Asia, flex your bargaining skills at the buzzing all-night Namdaemun or Dongdaemun markets, or go contemporary and cruise the slick boutiques and department stores of Myeong-dong and Apgujeong.
9. The cycling
Freeways dominate Seoul, but as part of its drive to be more eco-minded the city has started to promote pedal power. Bicycle rental stations are becoming more common, and dedicated cycle paths along much of the Han River provide great views and a fun way to exercise.
10. The food
Seoul offers some of Asia's best eating, from sizzling nokdu bindaetteok (mung-bean pancakes) at Gwangjang Market to elegant royal banquets at Korea House. Gourmands should also schedule a visit to Noryangjin fish market, where all kinds of marine life is just waiting to be consumed. Enjoy!

That regret was reflected on the streets of Madrid.
"All us football fans would have loved to have the World Cup here, so close, so we could go," Ricardo said. "It's a real shame we lost."
"It's regrettable, because I think Spain has the best league in the world," said Pedro. "People would have been very excited, especially after just winning the World Cup."
Some people think the fact that Spain had already hosted a World Cup - in 1982 - counted against it. Others blame global politics.
Spanish newspapers suggest the Iberian bid's final presentation did not help: "flat and unimaginative," according to El Pais.
Winning the contest to host the World Cup could have lifted the mood in two countries in the deep gloom of recession. But some people are relieved it went to Russia.
"I'm happy we didn't win," says Juanjo Bombillas. "I don't think the economic circumstances here are right now to make the kind of investment we'd have needed."
At least Spain has its success on the pitch as consolation.

Dr Hughes has put forward a theory linking the object - presumed to be ball lighting - to the fireballs.
His idea is that one of the fireballs may have momentarily triggered an electrical connection between the upper atmosphere and the ground, providing energy for the ball lightning to appear above the hills.
He has written up his explanation in a journal of the Royal Society.
Dr Hughes says the extraordinary episode, which occurred during a night of fine weather, is just the sort of happening that might lead some to think they had witnessed UFO activity.

"If you put together inexplicable atmospheric phenomena, maybe of an electrical nature, with human psychology and the desire to see something - that could explain a lot of these UFO sightings," he told BBC News.

Eyewitnesses were asked to draw what they saw. This is how graphic designer David Sawell recalled a fireball

The scientist, who is a senior lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology, initiated the study after being called in by the local TV station to look over and explain photos of the fireballs captured by members of the public on camera phones.
Fireballs are exceptionally bright meteors and are produced by fragments of space rock larger than the sand-grain-sized particles responsible for shooting stars; but like shooting stars they cross the sky at great speed.
It seems at least three individual fireballs were seen on the night of 16 May 2006.

A subsequent survey organised by the university brought forward many more eyewitnesses, including a farmer who recalled seeing a luminous green ball rolling down a slope of the Great Divide, a mountainous ridge about 120km west of Brisbane.
This object described as being about 30cm in diameter appeared to jump over some rocks and follow the path of a metal fence for "some minutes". The farmer said he saw the green object come into view just after a fireball had passed overhead.
He thought at first he was witnessing a plane crash and called the police, but a search the following day found no wreckage.
Ball lightning seems an obvious explanation, says Dr Hughes. These bright, hovering spheres of light are not fully understood. They are known to be associated with thunderstorms, but not always, and there was certainly no electrical storm activity in the vicinity of the Great Divide.
Dr Hughes does not offer a new explanation for the causes of ball lightning, merely how enough energy might have been put into the ground to trigger it.
He proposes that the natural flow of current that exists between the upper-most reaches of the atmosphere, the ionosphere, and the ground was increased by the passage of the meteor that streamed charged particles and other conductive materials in its wake.

"Could it be that the meteor descending through the atmosphere, having passed through the ionosphere, actually created a transient conductive connection between the ionosphere and the ground, even if it was only for a few seconds? Was that enough to put charge into the ground, and then with the discharge form some kind of plasma ball above?
"Think of the ionosphere and the ground as the terminals on the battery and you put a wire between those two terminals and current flows, and literally you get a spark."
Other scientists have suggested that charges dissipating through the ground can create balls of glowing ionised gas above it.
Dr John Abrahamson from the University of Canterbury, NZ, championed the idea 10 years ago that ball lightning consisted of vaporised mineral grains kicked out of the soil by a conventional lightning strike, an idea later tested with some success by Brazilian researchers.
He described Dr Hughes' work as "relatively feasible" and something which made "interesting connections".
"There's a long way to go before everyone will be happy and satisfied that we have a full solution," he told BBC News.
Dr Hughes said his publication in Proceedings of the Royal Society A: Mathematical and Physical Sciences was intended to start a debate.
"It's not a vigorous theory; it's more a suggestion that may be worth exploring," he said.

I'm not necessarily talking about finding the cure for cancer or saving the whales here. Unless that's truly your thing. I'm talking about what you feel is important... what is meaningful to you. Just because your father wanted to fill the world with song doesn't mean that's what would make you race into the shower after turning off the alarm every morning. When you can work toward making a difference in some area that you feel strongly about, you will apply what you do best every day to something that matters.

Environment

The where you do what you do best piece. What does the "place" look like that will allow you to do your best work? Bright, open shared space? Private office? Your car? Outside? What is the culture/core values of the organization? Who are your colleagues (if any) and what are their attitudes, beliefs, work ethic? What are the ideal benefits and compensation?

From the physical space to the intangibles like values and benefits, outlining the characteristics of the right environment is just as important as what you do and why you do it in order to find - or design - the exact right fit for YOU.

"It is vital that we urgently find out why this has happened, and if individuals are to blame I will move swiftly to take the appropriate action.
"This is the third time in a matter of months that a prisoner has been released in error and I share the public anger that will naturally follow this latest serious incident."

E-mail exchange According to court documents, an FBI undercover agent contacted Mr Mohamud, a naturalised US citizen, in June, pretending to be an associate of a contact in Pakistan he had exchanged e-mails with last year.
It is claimed that when an undercover agent made contact with the young man, he talked of bombing the Christmas tree ceremony.
Mr Mohamud, who lives in the town of Corvallis, drove a van to the ceremony and was arrested at around 1740 local time on Friday (0040 GMT Saturday), before the tree lighting occurred.

Japan Passes New $61bn Stimulus Package !!!

The vote in favour of the latest stimulus measures represents a victory for the government, which has struggled getting the package through parliament.

The move is in marked contrast to European governments' policies, which are focusing on cutting spending to secure growth.

Falling prices

Japan has been struggling with weak growth, a high yen and deflation.

The core consumer price index fell by 0.6% in October compared with a year earlier, official figures showed.

This was a slight improvement on the 1.1% price falls seen in September.

Deflation is particularly damaging to economic growth as consumers delay purchases until prices fall further.

The improvement from September does not reflect any improvement in consumer demand, analysts said.

"Even though the pace of the fall in prices slowed by 0.5 percentage points, this was not due to an improved demand-supply balance," said Asushi Matsumoto at the Mizuho Research Institute.

Instead, he said, it was down to one-off factors, such as a hike in cigarette prices.

This means that "exit from deflation will be slower than previously thought," Mr Matsumoto argued.

Weak exports

Japan is also struggling with a strong yen, which makes exports more expensive to overseas consumers.

Figures released on Thursday showed export growth slowing for the eighth month in a row, with exports to Europe falling for first time for almost a year.

Analysts say weaker exports could also contribute to reduced consumer demand.

"Weak growth in exports could worsen corporate earnings, thus lowering household incomes to dampen consumer demand," Mr Matsumoto said.

And French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde said the bail-out was "sufficient" and that "irrational" markets were not correctly pricing the sovereign debt situation in Europe.

"The amount [of the bail-out] is sufficient because that will keep Ireland afloat for three years," she told RTL radio.

France and Germany have also said the Republic of Ireland bail-out should draw a line under its debt crisis.

And they have expressed confidence in Portugal's ability to correct its finances and avoid needing outside help.

'Best available deal'

An average interest rate of 5.8% will be payable on the loans, above the 5.2% paid by Greece for its bail-out.

Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen said it was the "best available deal for Ireland".

It provides "vital time and space to successfully and conclusively address the problems we've been dealing with since the financial crisis began", he said.

The Irish government has also said that interest payments on all state debt will account for more than 20% of tax revenues in 2014.

Canadian-born Nielsen started out as a serious actor but in 1980, his role as a hapless doctor in the disaster spoof film Airplane! made him a comic star.
In all, he appeared in more than 100 films and had a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. "With his friends and his wife by his side, he just fell asleep and passed away," his nephew Doug Nielsen said, the AFP news agency reported.
'Don't call me Shirley', born in the Canadian city of Regina in 1926, Leslie Nielsen enjoyed an acting career which spanned six decades. He started as a television actor in New York in 1950, performing in about 150 live dramas.
In the mid-1950s, he moved to Hollywood, where he initially carved out a film career as a leading man, capitalising on his craggy good looks and 6ft2in (194cm) height.
Then in 1980 his deadpan delivery in the comedy disaster movie Airplane! marked him out as a gifted clown, says the BBC's Rajesh Mirchandani in Los Angeles.
It was in this role that he became known for the line "Don't call me Shirley".
The success of Airplane! led to another TV role in the spoof crime show Police Squad where he first played accident-prone detective Frank Drebin.
He went on to make three films as the same character in the Naked Gun series, starring opposite Priscilla Presley.
He continued working into his eighties.
Nearly two weeks ago - at the age of 84 - Nielsen was taken into hospital in Florida where he lived, suffering from pneumonia.
His condition had worsened over the last two days and relatives said he passed away peacefully, our correspondent says.

Shedding light on wars?

Wikileaks argues that the site's previous releases shed light on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The leaked embassy cables are both contemporary and historical, and include a 1989 note from a US diplomat in Panama City musing about the options open to Panamanian leader Manuel Noriega and referring to him as "a master of survival" - the author apparently had no idea that US forces would invade a week later and arrest Noriega.

In a statement, the White House said: "Such disclosures put at risk our diplomats, intelligence professionals, and people around the world who come to the United States for assistance in promoting democracy and open government.

"President Obama supports responsible, accountable, and open government at home and around the world, but this reckless and dangerous action runs counter to that goal."

No-one has been charged with passing the diplomatic files to the website but suspicion has fallen on US Army private Bradley Manning, an intelligence analyst arrested in Iraq in June and charged over an earlier leak of classified US documents to Mr Assange's organisation.

The cables release was the third mass Wikileaks release of classified documents since it published 77,000 secret US files on the Afghan conflict in July, and 400,000 documents about the Iraq war in October.

Wikileaks argues the release of the documents has shed light on the wars, including allegations of torture and reports that suggest 15,000 additional civilian deaths in Iraq.

Business leaders and civil society activists have already urged the BNP to cancel, saying it will severely disrupt normal life and commercial activities.

The strike comes two weeks after BNP party leader Begum Khaleda Zia was evicted from her residence in military-owned house in the capital, Dhaka.

The house was leased to Ms Zia, a year after the assassination of her husband - former president General Zia-ur-Rahman - in a military coup in 1981.

The government said the lease to the house was illegal.

Her supporters argue that she should be allowed staying in the house and the government's decision to evict her was political.

Analysts warn that if the two main parties do not resolve their differences soon, then the country may witness a series of strikes in the coming weeks.

For those who want to arrange private geisha entertainment, it can be done through private tour companies and high-end ryokan and hotels. Orchestrated attacks Starting on Saturday night, armed men have been blocking some of the main roads leading out of Rio, robbing motorists and setting their vehicles on fire.
The authorities are convinced that the attacks are being orchestrated by drugs gangs in retaliation for being forced out of their traditional strongholds in some slum districts by police pacification units.
"Without doubt these attacks are related to the reconquest of territory and the new policy of public security in Rio de Janeiro," Mr Cabral said.
"We are not going to retreat in this policy. We are going to push forward, pacifying communities and bringing peace to the population."
Rio's police have been taking back control of poor neighbourhoods, known as favelas, that have for years been controlled by heavily armed drug trafficking gangs.
The pacification programme is aimed at improving security and the rule of law in Rio, which will host the Fifa football World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016.

Bond commitments However, analysts say the walkout is unlikely to stop the passage of the austerity budget, given that the opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD) has said that in order to not jeopardise the country's fragile finances it will abstain from the vote on Friday rather than vote against the measures.
The PSD position is crucial as Lisbon is trying to convince international investors that Portugal will not be forced to seek a bail-out like Ireland or Greece.
The austerity budget aims to reduce Portugal's deficit from 7.3% to 4.6% of GDP in 2011 through a combination of spending cuts and tax raises.
BBC Europe business correspondent Nigel Cassidy says that Portugal has failed to prosper or drive up productivity since joining the euro at what many now say was an unrealistic exchange rate.
The country found it especially difficult to compete with China in a previously strong sector, the manufacturing of textiles and shoes, our correspondent adds.
With 80% of its public debt held abroad, the country now finds itself at the mercy of bond traders and wants to convince the markets that it will be able to meet its commitments, our correspondent says.

In the week when Nato's political leaders talked up the prospects for an end to combat operations and spoke in terms of winding down - or even winding up - the Western presence in Afghanistan, the Pentagon assessment makes sobering reading.
It depicts an enemy which has the support of Iran and continuing access to safe havens along the Pakistani border. The insurgency emerges from the Pentagon report as resilient, adaptable and sophisticated.
The section which will make the grimmest reading for Nato's political leaders, and particularly those in Washington, deals with the alliance's desire to set a timetable for withdrawal within four years while also arguing that the war is winnable.
The report says the Taliban draws strength from a belief among the Afghan people that Nato forces will soon leave the country, clearing the way for a Taliban victory.
The read-out is not entirely negative - there is talk of uneven progress and modest gains in security and development in patches - but overall there is not much to cheer the Obama administration and its allies.

But it cited evidence Nato counter-insurgency efforts had "localised" effects in areas of Helmand and Kandahar provinces, and said the Nato strategy had yielded "cumulative effects".

"Security is slowly beginning to expand," the report states.
"Indications of local resistance to insurgents continue to emerge alongside positive indications, such as newly opened schools and police stations."
The Pentagon also said Taliban fighters were exploiting moves among Nato countries to withdraw combat forces.
Canada is due to pull its combat forces out in 2011, and President Barack Obama has also said he will begin removing US troops in July 2011, with security duties to be turned over to Afghan police and army units.
"The Taliban's strength lies in the Afghan population's perception that coalition forces will soon leave, giving credence to the belief that a Taliban victory is inevitable," the report says.
"The Taliban is not a popular movement, but it exploits a population frustrated by weak governance."
America would deny it is going to leave, says the BBC's Mark Mardell in Washington, but a handover by collation forces in four years' time is exactly what was agreed at the Nato summit last weekend.
Very indirectly, the US defence department is suggesting the strategy of American, British and other politicians is the cause of the Taliban's success, our correspondent adds.
Approximately 97,000 US troops and 48,800 troops from other countries are in Afghanistan at present.
Since January 2009, when Mr Obama took office, the US has more than tripled the number of civilians in the country, to 1,100, including diplomats, criminal investigators and drug enforcement agents and agricultural experts.

Unwillingness to learn. Given the present situation of the global economy and how the business setting changes continuously, learning is imperative.
Reacting negatively to criticism. A leader should keep an open ear to criticism, whether good or bad. It might lead to something good if taken in the right way.
Approves unethical business. This is a sure-fire guarantee that your organization will go the way of Enron. Beware of leaders who approve unethical business!

Unwillingness to Take Risks. Whether in a business setting or in a non-profit situation, risks are inevitable. A leader who does not want to take risks is either deluded or living in an entirely closed shell!
Indecisiveness. A bad leader wavers in his decisions. He decides one thing, then change it again. Then change it again soon after that. People can get easily confused because of this indecisiveness.
Laissez Faire. This leader simply lets things happen as they happen. He does not want to participate in constructing the reality that would lead to benefit the organization.
Poor Self Management. If you cannot manage yourself, how do you expect to manage a whole set of people who are working on different issues and tasks at the same time? Personal self management is a necessity for any good leader.
Playing Favorites. Everything in an organization must be merit-based. Rewards and even punishments must be commensurate to output and performance. If a leader plays favorites, then he is compromising the long-term health of the organization.
Lack of Accountability. When a leader just wants to do things his own way without regard of accountability, you have take note. This is the beginning of a lack of accountability which might lead to a leader going astray.
Deceitful. If a leader starts telling stories to one person and then a different version of that story to another person, then deceit has taken hold of the leader. There is probably some kind of cover-up going on.
Too passionate for power, wealth and prestige. Leaders are entitled to wealth, power and prestige. But if he passionate only for these things, then something has gone awry! He is no longer thinking right for his office and for the organization.
